Rejoice in the Everyday Mundane

Perspective.
We need the up-close, everyday mundane beauty and we need the big picture, full view.

The up-close shows the intricacies of life in its minutiae - I think this is how most of us are living right now - in the everyday, mundane and if we’re honest, it can be tedious and mind-numbing. But please, don’t miss the beauty. The beauty of watching your daughter bake in the kitchen, of your sons, out helping their dad with a project, of siblings playing legos TOGETHER or of the extra rest we all need and would never have taken unless forced to do so.

However, we also need the big picture, zoomed-out focus of life at large. How this pandemic is literally affecting EVERYONE - no one will go untouched, everyone is dealing with change in big and small ways, all of us are grieving different things and even in all that, the world is still beautiful and people are kind. We are seeing true acts of kindness, heroism (real-life heroes - not Avenger-like heroes), and communities coming together in creative ways to encourage one another!

Y’all, be encouraged in both the up-close and big picture of this. Like it’s been said, “He’s got the whole world in His hands!” He is a good God and He is trustworthy. Take the time we have forcibly been given to smell the roses, or in my case, the wildflowers on my desert trail.
