One Little Apple

I was outside watering this morning and realized that the apple is still growing and it made my heart happy! This is the only apple to be produced as of yet on our apple trees but I know that it takes, on average, 4-5 years for apple trees to begin to produce. This little apple here gives me hope for the future.

Oftentimes, I’m reminded of things God is teaching me while I’m out in His creation. Today I was encouraged as a momma while taking pictures of this apple. As I was watering the trees, my oldest son got home from work and he was BLARING his radio. This is nothing new... but what he was blaring made me rejoice! He was listening to a John MacArthur sermon. I was reminded that our lives produce fruit that is evident to others. That even the smallest harvest, even just one “apple” can be reason for rejoicing and thanksgiving to God. Y’all, I have SIX kids and some days (actually, most days) it’s just plain HARD. But I get glimpses and I am overwhelmed by the grace and mercy I have been shown. I am reminded in those moments that God’s timing is perfect and in due season, He will produce in their lives what He sees fit. Be encouraged mommas....this thing we call motherhood is NOT a sprint and honestly, there is no finish line, but there is joy in the journey and in trusting the only One that loves them more than us!
