Opinions

Opinions are inflammatory most of the time. As John MacArthur has said, “If my life does not match my mouth then you’re not going to hear what I say.”
.
.
During my absence, A LOT has gone on in our nation. I decided at the beginning of it to adhere to what James 1:19-20 says - “Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.”
.
.
I do have opinions, strong ones, on the C virus, George Floyd’s death and the attending protests/riots/BLM movement, politics, and the state of our nation. But here’s the thing, unless I can sit down with you and share my heart behind those opinions, it matters not. It can and will be offensive to some, maybe many.
.
.
BUT GOD! His Word, His Truth, His Justice, what He loves and what He hates - THAT I will stand for unapologetically. I am reminded of the old hymn “The Solid Rock.”

The Solid Rock

1) My hope is built on nothing less
than Jesus' blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
but wholly lean on Jesus' name.
Refrain:
On Christ, the solid rock, I stand;
all other ground is sinking sand,
all other ground is sinking sand.
2) When darkness veils his lovely face,
I rest on his unchanging grace;
in ev'ry high and stormy gale,
my anchor holds within the veil. [Refrain]
3) His oath, his covenant, his blood
support me in the whelming flood;
when all around my soul gives way,
he then is all my hope and stay. [Refrain]
4) When he shall come with trumpet sound,
O may I then in him be found,
dressed in his righteousness alone,
faultless to stand before the throne. [Refrain]
